The plane was believed to be hit by dark lightning and five and a half years later, the plane and its passengers reappeared.
Description[]
Dark lightning is a high-energy atmospheric discharge that releases lots of ionizing radiation. You have to be very close to detect it and Roger Mencin did when Flight 828 disappeared in the storm. Bill Daly made the airspeed 300 knots, maintaining a level altitude, and flying through the storm, but the simulator showed that's impossible.[1] Captain Daly said dark lightning hit the plane and nobody believed him. Dark lightning is a burst of gamma radiation, invisible. [2]
Aftershock Theory[]
When Zeke was in the cave, there was an electrical storm in the center of the blizzard. Zeke felt something like an earthquake, the equivalent of the turbulence of Flight 828. Aftershock theory - the airplane was the earthquake and that was the aftershock. [3] Like the tremors from the misuse of the omega sapphire, the aftershock are the result of the divine.
Al-Zuras[]
One of the pictures in the Al-Zuras Journal is of his ship sailing with dark lightning above it as well as a "silver dragon." Ben Stone later sees the same bolt outside of his house during a Calling.[4]
The Glow[]
The black box recorded ultra low frequency, electromagnet waves that the human ear can’t hear are emitted by earthquakes. The black box recorded all the Callings, until Daly reappeared, in a 6.2-second segment of ULF. Used by peacocks and few other animals to communicate, and so do the passengers. ULF is a sort of God frequency. The dark lightning that hit the plane was the glow chasing Flight 828. According to copilot Amuta Clarke, the dark lightning struck the plane several times, presumably causing its destruction and the death of the passengers before they were pulled into the Glow. The Glow from outside the plane and the Callings, it's all one, it's all connected, Flight 828 was inside the glow. The plane was in the divine consciousness, and the Callings are memories been there.[5]
After the passengers beat the Death Date, dark lightning flashes around the restored plane as the Glow reappears in the distance. Amidst dark lightning, Michaela Stone and Amuta fly the plane back into the Glow, emerging on April 7, 2013, the day that Flight 828 was originally supposed to land.[6]
