"Duty Free" is the eleventh episode of the third season of Manifest. It premiered on June 3, 2021 on NBC.

Synopsis

The consequences of Ben's actions tests his marriage and sends Grace reeling. Michaela makes a difficult decision regarding Saanvi's secret. Cal, following his intuition, provides secret refuge to an outcast.[src]

Plot

Cal is hiding Angelina in his room when she becomes convinced that God wants her to be an Aaron to Cal's Moses. Ben has his arraignment and expects to plead guilty and present the extenuating circumstances of what happened with Cody Webber, but he draws an anti-828 judge and pleads not guilty. The judge sets an enormous bail and has Ben placed on house arrest, forcing Grace to retrieve her restaurant deposit and mortgage the house to pay the bond. Ben and Michaela learn that government agencies in the U.S. and around the world are tightening the reins on 828 passengers. This comes to a head when it's learned that a passenger was just executed in Singapore. Ben, Michaela, Cal, and several other 828-ers have callings of being on fire. Michaela believes it's partly because Saanvi hasn't yet turned herself in, which puts her at odds with Ben on the decision to arrest her. Saanvi makes a stop at Project Eureka before seeing Michaela. After confessing to Vance about the driftwood, she sees they are now experimenting on the tailfin, which she believes will cause an even greater catastrophe. When Saanvi makes it to the police station, Michaela turns in her badge and whisks her away upon hearing the latest development from Bowers. Ben is released from jail and is talking with Vance when an apprehended Eagan sees him and explodes with rage. It's revealed that the NYPD has also arrested Adrian, who had been underground since the club fire. At Angelina's urging, Cal shows up at the gates of Project Eureka asking to see the tailfin.
