Harvey Stein is a character on Manifest. He debuts in the first episode of the first season and is portrayed by guest star Rich Topol.
Biography[]
Before Flight 828[]
As a child, Harvey was friends with an individual named John Klein. ("Point of No Return") When he was an adult, he started selling sporting goods. ("Reentry")
During Flight 828[]
Harvey went to Jamaica for an unknown reason. During the flight, Harvey was in Seat 10D. Like everyone else he experiences the turbulence caused by the captain flying through a dark lightning storm. After the turbulence finishes, Harvey asks flight attendant Bethany Collins for a drink, to which she agrees. ("Pilot")
After Flight 828[]
After getting off the flight, Harvey told the authorities that he would sue them and the airline during an interview. He was one of the 20 passengers who was later called back and watched the plane explode in front of them. ("Pilot") When being interrogated about this, Harvey tells them that he just sells sporting goods and doesn't know what happened. ("Reentry")
After the incident, Harvey starts to drink and would become a regular at O'Ryan's bar. There, he told two customers, Susan Creighton and Rick Moore, and the bartender, Lois, that he knew this event was going to happen, only for them all to die within the next week. During this time, he became highly suicidal, viewing himself as the "angel of death." Wishing for all of this to stop, he goes on the rooftop of Friedman College's synagogue to commit suicide. Despite Michaela's attempts to save him, Harvey jumps off the building, thus killing himself. Eventually, Michaela and Jared discover that Harvey viewed himself as the "angel of death," with the former beginning to fear that it is true after the third death, and she continues to be wary of who she tells. ("Point of No Return")
A New Timeline[]
After the passengers beat the Death Date, they are given a second chance by being sent back in time to when they were originally supposed to land, April 7, 2013, thereby creating a new timeline. Harvey and all of the other passengers who died along the way are resurrected and emerge from Flight 828, while likely not remembering their disappearance from the original timeline. Harvey offers to show Henry Kim around New York and asks for Henry to buy him a drink or two. ("Final Boarding")
