Before Flight 828

Jared is dating Michaela. He eventually proposes to her, but she isn't ready to get married. She goes to Jamaica to decide whether or not to accept the proposal. "Pilot"

During Flight 828

While Michaela is missing, he never looks at another woman for two years, but eventually begins a romantic relationship with Michaela's best friend, Lourdes. He goes to Michaela's parents, Michaela’s mom advises him to go after Lourdes while Michaela’s dad is hesitant about the idea. Eventually, he and Lourdes get married. "Reentry"

After Flight 828

Jared is surprised with the fact Michaela's flight returned after being missing for five years, also being stunned that Michaela didn't age a day. He still cares about her, saying that he never replaced her soon afterwards. "Pilot"
