- "All things come together for good (Revelations 8:28)"
- —Karen Stone "Pilot"
Karen Rose Stone is the wife of Steve Stone and mother of Ben and Michaela Stone.
Biography[]
Before Flight 828[]
At some point, Karen marries Steve Stone with whom she has two children, Ben and Michaela. When Michaela was little, whenever she had a nightmare to calm her down Karen would bring her milk and fig biscuits, while Ben preferred ice cream.
As an adult Ben married a woman named Grace and had two children, Olive and Cal. The latter unfortunately fell ill with cancer.
Years later the whole family went on vacation to Jamaica, where Karen desperately tries to convince Michaela to marry her fiancé Jared Vasquez. While returning home, their flight is oversold, Michaela, Ben and Cal take the next flight for some extra money, while Karen, Grace, Steve and Olive stay on their flight. ("Pilot")
During Flight 828[]
Some time later it becomes clear that Flight 828 has disappeared and will never return and Cal, Michaela and Ben are believed dead. During this time, Karen becomes ill.("Pilot")
During her illness she knits an afghan for Jared as a way to bless his relationship with Lourdes, Michaela's best friend.("Connecting Flights")
Eventually Karen dies of her illness.("Pilot")
Romans 8:28[]
- ""All things work together for good" That cheesy verse was her mantra"
- —Michaela Stone[src]

The Bible verse of Romans 8:28 was Karen's favorite Bible verse. She referenced it often, and used it to help Michaela after she wasn't sure she deserved to marry Jared after blaming herself for Evie'sdeath. It was later realized that it contained the numbers 828 in the verse, connecting back to Flight 828.
A New Timeline[]
After beating the Death Date, Flight 828 is sent back in time to April 7, 2013 where the passengers are given a second chance. Still alive in 2013, Karen reunites with her children who are ecstatic to see her again.
Trivia[]
- It's heavily implied that she died of cancer. Meaning that Cal's leukemia was likely a genetic recessive trait.
