"When they let us go, they told us we weren't supposed to talk, but I know my rights. And now that I've spoken up, I think they're watching me. I'm telling you, I think the government is behind this. I mean, if I'm supposed to own my truth, don't you think they should, too?"
—Kelly owning her truth in "Reentry"

Kelly Taylor is a character in Manifest. She débuts in the first episode of the first season and is portrayed by guest star Julienne Hanzelka Kim.

Biography[]

Before Flight 828[]

Kelly Taylor was a commercial property owner. At some point, she married Patrick and hired Christine as her housekeeper. Over time, Christine would grow jealous of Kelly and try to kill her so she could have Patrick for herself.

During Flight 828[]

Kelly went to Jamaica for an unknown reason, possibly for vacation. While in Jamaica, her reservation gets screwed. At the airport, Kelly was going to take another flight until she was bumped to Flight 828. ("Turbulence") When Kelly boards the flight back to New York, she has trouble putting her bags up in the compartment and complains about it. Fiona Clarke then walks by and puts her bags up and then tells her that everything is happening for a reason. ("S.N.A.F.U.") Before the flight takes off, she calls someone (most likely Patrick) and says she's thankful that this is a short flight and that she's never riding Montego Air again, and jokingly that she'd rather die. ("Turbulence") During the flight, Kelly asks for a hypoallergenic blanket. ("Contrails") Like everyone else she experiences the turbulence caused by the captain flying through a dark lightning storm.

After Flight 828[]

In "Pilot", she cried during her interview with authorities. In "Reentry", she makes an abusive comment to Michaela Stone because Michaela does not comment about her affiliation with the NYPD as soon as Kelly thought she should have. After the twenty people who had watched as the Flight 828 aircraft exploded were warned not to discuss what they knew with anyone, Kelly went on national media to express what she believed. While she was watching herself on television later, she was shot and killed by Christine (her housekeeper).

In season 3, Ben had a calling which caused his hand to glow, at first he thought it had something to do with the Tail fin. However he realized that the calling was leading him elsewhere, it lead him around eureka until he was noticed by some guards. Ben quickly ran and in an attempt to evade his pursuers he opened a large door and was met with Kelly Taylor’s Corpse which was kept in some sort of incubation chamber. When Ben questioned Vance about this, his lead researcher revealed that her corpse no longer showed signs of a gunshot wound which killed her in season one. Instead, her body show signs of a midair explosion, meaning her corpse was reverting to how it should have ended up if she was still on Flight 828 when it exploded.

In season 4, it's discovered that the Omega Sapphire is hidden in the wall of the boiler room of a building that Kelly had owned. Michaela guesses that it must've once been a part of the Masonic Temple of the Omega Order next door.

A New Timeline[]

After the passengers beat the Death Date, they are given a second chance by being sent back in time to when they were originally supposed to land, April 7, 2013, thereby creating a new timeline. Kelly and all of the other passengers who died along the way are resurrected and emerge from Flight 828, while likely not remembering their disappearance from the original timeline. Kelly makes a phone call and tells the person on the other end that she's ready to own her truth. ("Final Boarding")
