Leo is the cousin of Bethany Collins and boyfriend of Thomas Reid.
Biography[]
Before Flight 828[]
Living in Jamaica, Thomas was dating a man named Leo, but it was extremely dangerous to be gay in Jamaica. When a friend of the couple was beaten to death, they posted a video calling out the police for not investigating. As a result, Leo and Thomas became targets themselves and had to flee the country. Leo was able to get a plane ticket, but Thomas couldn't get a passport in time, so Leo's cousin Bethany Collins agreed to smuggle him aboard Flight 828. Thomas and Leo agreed to meet at the Angel of the Waters statue at the Bethesda Fountain in Central Park because the Angels of the Waters was a big part of Angels in America, Leo's favorite play. The two planned to then start a new life in America together. ("Unclaimed Baggage")
During Flight 828[]
Thomas stows away disguised as a flight attendant. However, the plane disappears and the passengers are presumed dead. As a result, Thomas never meets Leo at the fountain. Afterwards, as far as Leo's family knows, he never makes it to the United States and vanishes two years after 828. ("Unclaimed Baggage", "Rendezvous")
Leo becomes convinced that the plane's disappearance is God's way of punishing him and Thomas for their love. ("Rendezvous")
At some point, Leo, now going by the name of Kenroy, volunteers at the Masonic Temple of the Omega Order, a Masonic order dedicated to protecting the Omega Sapphire. ("Full Upright & Locked Position", "Rendezvous")
After Flight 828[]
When the plane returns five and a half years later, Thomas makes his way to the Angel of the Waters statue, only to find no sign of Leo and learn that five and a half years have passed. When Bethany finally finds him with the help of fellow 828ers Michaela Stone and Saanvi Bahl, she is forced to share the bad news with him that they really have been gone for five and a half years and that Leo went missing two years after the plane did. Michaela, who is an NYPD detective, promises to try and help Thomas find Leo. ("Unclaimed Baggage")
During his first Calling to "help him," Eagan Tehrani is drawn to the Masonic Temple of the Omega Order where he encounters Leo. However, Eagan steals a bag of petty cash rather than following his calling. ("Full Upright & Locked Position")
After connecting the Masonic temple to the Omega Sapphire, Eagan returns to temple where Leo recognizes him from his first visit. Eagan claims that he's come to volunteer, and Leo lets him in. ("Full Upright & Locked Position")
A month later, Eagan and Leo continue to work together at the temple with Eagan noticing odd things about "Kenroy" such as his failure to respond to that name which Leo claims is because he has hearing troubles. Suspious, Leo follows Eagan into the basement where he finds Eagan stealing tiles off of the wall. However, Eagan gets Leo's interest by revealing that he was a passenger on Flight 828 and follows him to the Boiler Room where they meet Michaela and Saanvi. On the wall, Leo finds the heart with his name in the middle of it that Thomas had drawn while hiding out and reveals his true identity as Thomas' long-missing boyfriend. Leo explains that when the plane disappeared, he had thought that God was trying to punish him and Thomas for their love. Breaking open the wall, they find a puzzle leading to the Omega Sapphire which the group solves with the help of the Al-Zuras Deck. However, the removal of the Sapphire causes the room to partially collapse, trapping Leo under debris, as Eagan escapes and locks the others in.
Michaela and Saanvi manage to free Leo before they are rescued by Thomas who was drawn back to the boiler room by a Calling. Finally reunited after the better part of a decade, Thomas and Leo affirm their love for each other. Leo's injuries are later treated by Dr. Alex Bates and he joins Olive Stone, Jared Vasquez, Zeke Landon and Alex sitting in one of the seats of Flight 828 during a Calling that reveals the Death Date is actually the Apocalypse. ("Rendezvous")
On the Death Date, Thomas laments being torn apart from Leo yet again after finally getting him back. ("Final Boarding")
A New Timeline[]
After the passengers beat the Death Date, they are returned to April 7, 2013. As Michaela leaves the airport, she sees Thomas getting into a taxi to meet Leo at the statute and gives directions to the driver for him as she runs by. ("Final Boarding")
