Levi is a character on Manifest. He debuts in the third episode of the third season and is portrayed by guest star Will Peltz.

Biography[]

Levi is a graduate student who is enlisted by Ben Stone to go through the artifacts that TJ Morrison sent to him from Egypt. Levi is less than pleased by the presence of Olive Stone and Angelina Meyer, but allows them to stay. Although Olive offers him their help, Levi refuses, stating that it took him 4 years, 10 courses and a thesis on Medieval Egyptian artisans to be allowed to do restorations. However, Olive draws Levi's interest by revealing her knowledge of Yusuv Al-Zuras and he agrees to let them help with some ground rules. Together, the three decipher an ancient papyrus and Levi tells the girls about Ma'at. However, Levi notes that this depiction of the weighing of souls is odd because it depicts Ma'at weighing a heart against a peacock feather instead of an ostrich feather. Levi wonders if anyone had written about this before and he goes to check the database and is annoyed when Olive's phone rings, having ordered her to turn her phone off. ("Wingman")

Levi encounters Olive as she's studying the papyrus and teases Olive about her relationship with TJ, causing Olive to snap at him. Levi helps Olive to decipher the symbols that Michaela found in the drawing in Jace Baylor's trailer before recognizing that one of them matches the papyrus sent by TJ which has been greatly restored by Levi. However, Levi hasn't finished the restoration yet, so he doesn't know what it means. The two finish the restoration and Levi determines that the papyrus is a version of the famous etching called The Last Trial which featured three criminals whose stories match Jace, Kory Jephers, and Pete Baylor. Olive realizes that the Last Trial is happening to the three meth heads and asks how the prisoners stopped it, but Levi just calls it an allegory and a lesson about redemption. The Last Trial was a test: if the last man had chosen to forgive his enemies instead of taking revenge, he would've been rewarded. Because he didn't, the last man was killed instead. ("Water Landing")

Years later, TJ gets the papyrus back, telling Olive that once the guy verified that he was the one who had sent it from Egypt originally, he had no problem with it. TJ mentions that the guy's name was Levi and asks if Olive knows him. Olive awkwardly clears her throat, tells her boyfriend that she "kinda" knows Levi, and quickly changes the subject. ("Inversion Illusion")

Trivia[]

  • Given the number of years that had passed, Levi was possibly no longer a graduate student and was instead working at the college in "Inversion Illusion" when TJ contacted him about The Last Trial Papyrus.
