Marko Valeriev, also known as Subject 3, is a passenger of Montego Air Flight 828.
Biography[]
Before Flight 828[]
During Flight 828[]
He was seen by Saanvi Bahl during the flight, asking for help in Bulgarian for filling out his customs form. He was then assisted by Anna Ross.
After Flight 828[]
He and 9 others were transported by a bus to a remote location to be experimented on by The Major using Fiona Clarke's research. They were moved to Brooklyn after Vance closed in on them. ("Off Radar")
The base was infiltrated by Vance and Marko and the other 9 passengers were taken to a secret location owned by Fiona Clarke. ("Dead Reckoning")
After Bill Daly takes Fiona, Marko and the other brain dead passengers are placed in a home for the disabled. After they're found, Saanvi Bahl recieves a Calling showing that Marko and the others are in the Divine Consciousness. ("Romeo")
Marko is later brought to the Stone house where he manages to draw a depiction of the World Card with fire, giving Michaela, Saanvi, Leo and Eagan the clue that they need to find the Omega Sapphire. When Marko is returned to the home, the force of the Apocalypse Calling causes his volcano snowglobe to explode. ("Rendezvous")
Marko and the others are taken to the 828 Detention Center where they are kept under monitored care. After Angelina Meyer shorts out the passengers' ability to receive Callings, the 10 passengers are left trapped in a constant state of Calling and require life support equipment to survive. When power goes out in the detention center, at least two die before the problem is rectified. ("Throttle", "Furball", "Threshold", "Lift/Drag")
Marko grabs Cal's arm during a visit, causing Cal to have a Calling of a peacock and two Omega Sapphires coming together. ("Threshold")
Saanvi later tests out a theory by using a miniature EMP on the surviving brain dead passengers in an attempt to awaken them by cutting off their connection to the God Frequency. Although apparently unsuccessful at first, Marko and the others later regain consciousness with Marko repeatedly uttering "Kovcheg." ("Lift/Drag")
Although finally awake, the patients show no memory of anything that had happened between their time with the Major and their awakening in the detention center. Security camera footage reveals Marko uttering "Kovcheg" upon awakening and he draws a coffin, implying that the patients have come back with the message that they won't be able to beat the Death Date. Marko later reveals that the word also means "Ark" and it's realized that Marko is trying to tell them that Cal needs to combine his Omega Sapphire with the one in Noah's Ark. That night, Marko and the others witness the beacon created by Cal combining the two Omega Sapphires. ("Formation")
Marko joins the other passengers in boarding the restored Flight 828 on the Death Date and he survives the Last Trial to beat the Death Date and be sent back to April 7, 2013, alongside the other passengers who beat the Death Date. ("Final Boarding")
Trivia[]
- Although Marko doesn't speak English, he appears to at least understand it to an extent as best seen with his reactions in "Formation" after finally being awakened.
