Sapphire triggered Flight 828 disappearance and return. With it, anyone who gets their hand on it can use it to interact with the divine.

History[]

Season 3[]

Precious Cargo[]

There is aluminum oxide all over the tailfin, but also all over Ben's hand and the Meth Heads. Iron, titanium, chromium, and vanadium, together with their sapphire. There's sapphire for everyone who has returned. Every data set that Eureka has collected, they are all connected. Each subject presented with a seemingly unremarkable residue to make sapphire. Sapphire is the common denominator between all the disappeared and returnees. Saanvi suggest they should isolate, analyze, and stress-test it under the same conditions that led to 828. (Dark Lightning.)

Destination Unknown[]

The DNA anomalies of the passengers show a unique combination of Iron, titanium, and multiple other components, but together, they crystallize to form sapphire. Like a fingerprint of what happened or what caused everything. Sapphire triggered Flight 828 disappearance and return. The Noah’s Ark is the only recovery specimen on the planet coated with the particular sapphire compound, meaning the vessel experienced the same phenomenon as Flight 828. The sapphire is the only evidence of a direct link between the divine and the physical world.

Bogey[]

While Saanvi simulated dark lightning onto Noah's Ark, it vanished at 7:44 pm and returned precisely 37 milliseconds later. This causes an earthquake swarm, a cluster of tiny tremors, at its place was the epicenter, but nobody felt it. This is the first evidence that the misuse of the sapphire can cause tremors.

Ben discovered Noah's Ark was lit by sapphire. The Hebrew word for sapphire is sappir, which comes from sefirah, which means Glow of God. The Glow is what Al-Zuras named the Callings.

Compass Calibration[]

While testing the Noah's Ark it started an earthquake, but this time the epicenter was 80 miles away from Eureka, opening up the kind of fissure that you'd see near a volcano. There's no volcano in New York, at least not yet. Dr. Cooper commenting "we took something from Mount Ararat. And now it's almost like Ararat is coming to take it back." The epicenter happened in the center of Zeke's cave, the Meth Head's lake, the river that James Griffin came out of. To Saavi this means a message to stop, so she throws the piece of the Noah's Ark into the magma, stopping the volcanic activity.

Season 4[]

Relative Bearing[]

Because all the Callings are memories from the Glow, it doesn't make sense why Eden gets Callings. One reason it could be is because she was wearing sapphire earrings. In history, sapphire has been referenced in myths, legends, and religion. Moses was standing on sapphire when God gave him the Ten Commandments. The Orecle of Delphi used sapphire to get her prophecies. Olive thinks by using sapphire they can go back to the divine consciousness.

Full Upright and Locked Position[]

The major used commercial sapphire to generate Callings. Increasing the charge, which increased his pain the clear the Calling. In Apocrypha, everything from the stone of the Oracle of Delphi to the Ten Commandments, they're all said to be made from sapphire mined from the same ancient quarry. The scholars refer to them as Omega Sapphires. The major wanted, these supercharged sapphire to tap into the full power of the Callings.

There were seven powerful stones called Omega Sapphires, most were lost to history. The last remaining one was the piece of Noah's Ark, which Saanvi threw into the fissure. Eagan remembers his first Calling saying "Helping him" at the Masonic Temple Of The Omega Order, now a volunteer center.

Rendezvous[]

In a translation of a 19th-century trader's diary from Yerevan. He met a man from a secret order called Omega, and their sole purpose was to protect a mystical sapphire. The compass from Frank (Black Box) was from Logan’s great-Grandpa Arnold, the first famed compass owner, was also a Freemason. One building he worked on was the lodge, AKA the Masonic Temple of the Omega Order. Eagan collected the tiles from the tunnels under the lodge leading to the boiler room where they were hiding Thomas. The boiler room must've been part of the Order at some point. There Eagan saw a hearth (with Leo on it) on the wall. Eagen, Mick, Saanvi, and Leo destroyed the cover revealing a puzzle carved into stone by Logan's great-grandfather. They added the tiles containing Roman numerals to their depiction of Al-Zara’s cards on the wall, but one was missing, the world card. Marko made a drawing of the world card with fire, realizing they needed to light the wall. When they started the fire it was so powerful that it blew the bricks revealing a depiction of Ma’at, having the omega sapphire. Eagan then ran off with the stone, only to be stolen again.

Inversion Illusion[]

Angelina stole the omega sapphire creating false Callings to Ben. When Eden chooses Ben, Angelina makes every passenger feel her pain. With Cal is the dragon having a scar containing the sapphire, he was able to summon Angelina to a Calling, and break the omega sapphire. Angelina's hand is then fused with an omega sapphire shard. Angelina misused of the sapphire created fissures in the tristate area having 700 deaths.

The omega sapphire was in Ma'at, and the parchment of Ma'at also had sapphire, it could be seen before because the pigmentation faded away. In the parchment, the depiction of Ma'at is surrounded by the constellation Draco, a dragon. The tail is touching the scale. The parchment shows there is sapphire inside the dragon hovering over Ma'at scales. Olives predicts if a passenger, a dragon, is touched by the sapphire, it could tip the scales and 828's survive.

Final Descent[]

Cal’s dragon scar glows when he had a nightmare. Latter on he sees an apple on the floor when he picks it up he enters a Calling. Cal sits on Bethany’s seat, seeing her Calling. Mean while Bethany is exhibiting signs of a Calling.

Bug Out[]

Cal enters Joe’s Calling. Angelina use her omega sapphire shard to connect to Cal in a Calling. In the Calling, Cal sees an apple with blood on it. This leads him to the apple farm (where the plane landed,) finding Fiona.

Ghost Plane[]

Cal enters the Calling to see Fiona’s Calling, but there was an olive tree on her seat. Angelina project Olive to Eden, to spy on her and uses her to kill Fiona.

Fata Morgana[]

Angelina projects an officer to Saanvi and Patrick to his father, Daly, to get Daly killed. Cal projects himself to Angelina, to find out where she is.

Throttle[]

Angelina uses the sapphire to bring Amuta in. When she using it again there’s tremors. When they found out that the sapphire is fused to Angelina’s body, Ben tries to get rid of her powers, but Angelina projects her pain to every passenger removing their ability to have Callings, minus Cal.

Formation[]

The night before the dreaded Death Date, Cal used the sapphire in his arm and connected it with the sapphire from the fragment of Noah's Ark, creating a huge light beacon for passengers. Cal then disappeared into the light as it shined upwards. Cal was able to tip the scales in the passengers' favor for the final judgment.

Final Boarding[]

The combination of Cal's sapphire and the sapphire in Noah's Ark restores Flight 828 to serve as the location of the Last Trial on the Death Date. When Angelina Meyer shows up with her followers, she threatens the other passengers with the powers of her sapphire, only for her arm to suddenly stop glowing as the sapphire loses power as the Last Trial approaches. Angelina and her sapphire subsequently burn up as a result of Angelina failing to beat the Death Date.
