The Glow is a term for what Cal and the other Passengers of Flight 828 describe as a divine consciousness.
That was the reason for flight 828 disappearing in the first place.
Description[]
The glow is a heavenly state. It is a place of all knowingness where you know everything that has already happened or will happen.
History[]
Back in the day, it is believed that Moses stood on sapphire while God gave him the 10 Commandments. Which means he was one of the first people in history to interact with the glow.
Noah’s Ark was the test of humanity by the Divine to see if humans were worthy of living on the planet it created. Noah was possibly showed by the divine consciousness in the form of Callings how to prevent the flood from happening and created his ark.
500 years prior to 828, a man named Al-Zuras Disappeared for 10 years along with his crew on a boat. He most likely spent his time in the glow and while he did, he gained the knowledge of past and future and saw Flight 828 years ahead of when the event events would happen. He then referred to Flight 828 as the silver dragon. He returned after his 10 years of disappearance. Although it’s never confirmed if he or his crew had survived his death date let alone if they even had one, but he became so fascinated with Flight 828 that he placed clues throughout history that would eventually lead to the passengers of the plane to them so that they would help them in their journey.

On April 7, 2013, Cal Stone seen the glow prior to anyone else on the plane while uttering the words “It’s all connected”. Later, the passengers of Montego Airways Flight 828 experience life-threatening turbulence in the form of a lightning storm. This was the Divine consciousness chasing them and choosing 828 and its passengers. The lightning strikes apparently caused the destruction of the plane and the death of the passengers as it was pulled into the divine consciousness.[1]The passengers all entered the glow and in this time gained the knowledge of all knowingness. [2][3]They disappeared for 5 1/2 years and exited the glow on November 4, 2018.
Mayday[]
Cal touches the 828 Tailfin and disappears. When the tailfin returns to the ocean it disappears. In Ben, Saanvi, and Michaela's Calling, Cal said “this is the way it has to be,” before Grace's death. When Cal returns he is grown up as if 828 disappearance never happened. Captain Daly also returns in the plane at Eureka, screaming for help then disappears with the plane.
All-Call[]
Saanvi listens 828 black box (a flight data recorder), that had returned, after the entire plane disappeared. The record was changed having Daly screaming for help with the original record. Every time Saanvi plays it, there's ultra low frequency. ULF are electromagnetic waves that the human ear can’t hear and are emitted by earthquakes. The black box recorded all the Callings, until Daly reappeared, in a 6.2-second segment of ULF.
High Flight[]
The 6.2-second from the black box record affects Cal's scar.
Captain Daly and Amuta describe the calm, the confusion after the brightness, "the long, delirious, burning blue" after an old poem about flying. Amuta believes that the lightning storm killed them and destroyed the plane, but the fact that Cal saw the Glow awhile before the turbulence means that the Glow chose and was chasing them rather than 828 having flown into the storm. Hearing Amuta's story triggered Cal's memory of what happened after he touched the tailfin and disappeared. When Cal touched the tailfin he went back to 828 with Daly and Fiona. Daly didn't want Cal to leave because he would forget, but Fiona said he already has the answer. Daly grabbed Cal that's why he came back at the same time as Cal.
Go-Around[]
Cal and Olive bring together all of the clues about Flight 828's disappearance, now including a Hopi blanket gifted to them by Kyle Boyd. In the compass there is "divina conciencia" engraved, meaning divine consciousness. According to tarot, the Star Card represents enlightenment, which means Cal is directly connected to divine consciousness. "You already have the answer." The glow from outside the plane and the Callings, it's all one, it's all connected, is where they were, inside the Glow. The plane was in the divine consciousness for five and a half years.
Squawk[]
ULF is used by peacocks and few other animals to communicate, and so are the passengers. ULF is a sort of God frequency. When brain scans on Cal, his memory center lit up right when he had a Calling. Remembering something when he was in the Glow, divine consciousness. Learning that the Callings are memories.
Final Boarding[]
After beating the Death Date, the Glow appears in the sky outside of the restored Flight 828. Declaring that they would be chasing the Glow this time, Michaela Stone and Amuta Clarke fly Flight 828 into it. The passengers then emerge from the plane on April 7, 2013, the day that 828 was originally supposed to land, which then also makes them realize that they have been given a second chance. As they traveled back in time and to the point they were supposed to arrive, the passengers reverted to their younger selves, and this creates a new timeline where the passengers get back the 5 1/2 years they originally lost. The passengers that died along the way and Cal are resurrected and also given a second chance, though Cal has no memory of disappearing and the last 5 1/2 years from the original timeline, and it is likely that the resurrected passengers have no memory as well. Only the passengers that survived the Death Date remember disappearing and the past 5 1/2 years from the original timeline. The authorities are left to investigate the disappearance of the 11 passengers who didn't survive the Death Date, while the 828 passengers that survived the Death Date begin to make use of their second chance.
